Say bonjour to this classic French delicacy – the perfect partner to a lazy Sunday brunch. Buttery, crunchy toast meets smoked ham and gooey melted Emmental, all topped off with a fried egg. Bon appétit!
1. Butter 4 slices of white bread and toast under the grill until golden.
2. Flipping to the untoasted side, top half the bread with 2 slices of smoked ham and 2 slices of Emmental cheese, and spread the remaining bread with more butter and Dijon mustard.
3. Grill again for 1 minute, then sandwich together and grill for a further 2 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
4. Meanwhile, fry 2 eggs to your liking and slide on top of each sandwich before serving.
