This is a simple yet sophisticated cocktail that uses our Hortus Summer Gin, gently flavoured with rosehip and hibiscus with a tangy freshness provided by orange, lemon and bergamot peels. Cranberry juice adds tartness, while the addition of fresh lemon juice and sugar beautifully balances this refreshing cocktail.
- Begin by making the sugar syrup. Gently heat 2 parts of sugar to 1 part water in a pan until it dissolves to form a smooth syrup. Measure out 10ml and set aside the rest to use in other cocktails.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the gin, cranberry, lemon juice, egg white and sugar syrup.
- Shake well, then strain into a glass filed with more ice. Top up with soda water and garnish with a slice of lemon.
