Method
Make a splash with these fun mermaid tail biscuits. So easy to make and fun to decorate, try adding them to cupcakes for an under the sea inspired tea party.
1. Put 100g softened butter in a bowl with 100g caster sugar, 150g plain flour, 1 medium egg and ½ tsp vanilla essence. Beat together until combined.
2. Bring the dough together with your hands to form a ball. Roll out on parchment to 5mm thick and cut out 12 mermaid tail shapes (you can make a template using cardboard), discarding the excess dough.
3. Slide the parchment onto a baking tray and bake at 180ºC/160ºC fan/gas mark 4 for 15-18 mins. Cool before decorating with writing icing pens.
