Start by rubbing the butter, vegetable oil and flour together to make the pastry. Add enough water to make a dough, then wrap and chill for 30mins minimum.

Preparation
Cut the pastry into 4 and roll into 23cm circles.
Mix the pickled onions, pickles for a bit of kick, diced potato to add bulk, cheddar for some added strength and ham for an element of smokiness together for the filling.
Divide the mixed filling between the circles and crimp, then brush with egg.
Bake at 200c for approx 45mins.
Serve with ketchup.
